The Black Canadian Scholarship Fund (BCSF) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2007 bursary awards
in the amount of $5,000 each, to:
Justin Nortey
Described as an avid learner and having a mind with an international vision, this St-Matthew High School graduate is the 2007 recipient of the Founders Award. Justin's academic performance and his community involvement are clues to his future success. He has maintained a minimum 80% average throughout his high school career, and has been on the honour roll every year. He is actively involved in the community through his school, church, and as a member of Scouts Canada. Justin wishes to pursue studies in Bio-Pharmaceuticals at the University of Ottawa.
Nedg� Blais.
Nedg�, who immigrated from Haiti with her mother a few years ago, has demonstrated strong work ethic, critical thinking skills and excellent time-management skills. Nedg� is an accomplished violinist who is able to find the right balance between her love for music, academics and community involvement. This graduate of St. Patrick's High School will pursue Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa with later plans to attend Law School.
Grace Vita-Di-Mpasi
Grace Vita-Di-Mpasi came to Canada with her family from Africa to seek a better life. A graduate of College Catholique Franco-Ouest, she is devoted to humanitarian and social causes. Throughout her highschool years, Grace has demonstrated exceptional analytical and leadership qualities. She has worked to help raise funds to build a well in rural Kenya and Tibet, as well as help fundraise for those less fortunate in the Ottawa area. Grace will be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Nursing at the University of Ottawa.
