The Black Canadian Scholarship Fund (BCSF) Press Release
Randall Antoine &
Francoise Makanda is the second recipient for 2006. Not only did this École Garneau graduate maintain an over 80% average in her Grade 12 year, she managed to hold two part-time jobs as well. She also found time for community involvement at Rogers Television in programs that serve francophone minorities and other ethnic groups, participating especially in the television show Francojeunesse. Following her dream and that of her parents for "une bonne éducation", Francoise, who is originally from Cameroon, has set out to achieve it in Canada through hard work, a lively curiosity and superior organization. With her 2006 award and her determination both to improve her academic performance and continue her community activities, Francoise plans to begin a Journalism degree at Carleton or Ryerson University. www.bcsf.ca
