United Way Campaign

You can donate to the BCSF via the ongoing United Way Campaign. The donors must specify that the funds are to be "directed to the BCSF administered by the Community Foundation of Ottawa". Our tax number is 11922 7981 RR001.

Who can apply?


The BCSF Bursaries are open to Black Canadian students graduating from high school in the Ottawa area with an interim or final average of at least 75% in six Grade 12 courses.

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and community involvement.


What is the deadline for application?


The deadline for applications is May 31st every year.

How can I apply?


Interested students may obtain an application form from any high school in the Ottawa area or via download from our website, fill it in, and send to the BCSF.

How is the award disbursed?


The bursary awards are directed in two equal installments. The first in the Fall term and the second in the Winter term to the University of choice, of the recipient, through the Ottawa Community Foundation.


When will the winners be notified?


If an applicant has not received notification by July 31 of any given year, it is an indication that the applicant has not been successful.
